Agreed
i workout 3 days a week and fill the rest days with 12k steps at 33. no need to workout more than 3 days a week for me.
63 YO weight training 5 days per week (Mon-Friday), daily walk 3 miles and twice per week HIIT.
I only agree with the 30 to 40 minute workout part. Then again I’m 5’9 and 195lbs in excellent shape with good cardio. Don’t listen to me listen to the over 40 guy in the video😅
Excellent!
Been lifting weights for over 45 years. Won several state bodybuilding championships and am the age of 63 and hadn't let up!!💪👍🤠
It doesn't take much to get ripped if you are consistent and eat right for you.
#AskAl Do you consider calisthenics "strength training"? You wouldn't recommend daily calisthenics?
I’m about to be 29 and I want to stay fit, healthy and as young as I possibly can.
I'm not a man, nor am I over 40 but I feel like I belong here.
What does split mean? Same day?
Wrong. Our bodies fight to maintain equilibrium. If you're at a certain strength level and you just suddenly stop, how long will it take before you lose your progress? The older you are the faster you'll lose it. So, it's better to strength train more often as you age with less intensity. Spread it out. If you strength train you shouldn't be trying to lift near maximum levels all of the time anyway you have to cycle. The length of those cycles change as you age though. Think about connective tissue elasticity and regeneration. That's one reason for cycling. They take longer to heal than muscle and as you age they take even longer.
Im 58, and can. Whoop on 20 year old on the bike, BUT only w rest and recovery. A few days of hard effort and no rest and im weak. It takes a LOT more time to recover as an older athlete.
Great advice.
Great advice buddy!
51 year old. Train 6 days a week with only two days of full body resistance training. I ruck two of those days in zone 2. 2 days of interval. I resistance train for two hours. Been doing this for years. This potion has me looking 25. Just don’t look at my face it’s probably in the 40’s 😂
I'm 48, and I train every day. I do 5 resistance days and 2 HIIT days. I also run 5-10 k every evening. I don't consider this to be overdoing it.
What’s up calisthenics people. I did way too many pull ups, and one on pull ups in one day than I did a bunch of wrestling with my friends and at the end of the day my biceps were burning. The next week when I tried to work out they started burning again. How long should I wait before working them out?
Funny how he says "we older guys of over 40". For a 60 year old guy like me this sound so stupid.
I Agree 3 Upper/ 3 Lower, Walking 6 Days SOMETIMES Im Too Sore To Continue Need Another Day Off But Sunday Always Off
