With the weather steadily becoming less pleasant (at least in the Northern Hemisphere) how can we keep up our training when it’s …

An eight minute advert 😮 Less of this please 😂
aye she came 1st and i was 4th in stafford for our age group!
No offense, but I thought we were going to get tips from the amateur world champion?
Which platform is better, bkool or zwift?
One thing to note and confirmed by studies with pro tour riders is that your indoor power will be slightly less than IRL, studies found between 10-15watts difference. I personally like to have an FTP on Zwift for training, and a separate FTP for IRL.
Great tips GTN & Steph!
i came here expecting information about how much of indoor X outdoor training she does, wich trainings are keys, how structure blocks and weeks of training in zwift, how much of training is bike X swim X run …. and other useful stuff … and basically was told to not forget a fan .. Come on guys, you could have done better
Wait you said it’s ok to deviate from our training plan…that doesn’t sound right…
I’ve just joined zwift a few months ago and I’m bloody loving it ❤ I do all the things you have said already so well chuffed with this video ( except FTP which I’m building up to 😩)
Boring advertising to Zwift
Zwift also makes you better because it’s noticeably harder than any outdoor ride 😂💀
I hate indoor training
Thanks for the tips!
I'm such a culprit for the extra tip @ 7:28 that I've plugged the fan on a smart plug, so I can control it from my phone (which is close due to the companion app)
Dumb questions but is there a recommended gear to have it on? And are you supposed to actually shift? Specifically hills
Get a really good mat for under your bike and trainer and use something (I use a couple of towels) to protect your bike from all the salty sweat that’s going to be released from your body as it will eventually corrode the bicycle components
Oh the dream of a smart trainer. Might have to come back to this video if I do score one. The camper trailer addition to my triathlon gear ate up the budget. Cheers
Another option for the fan, if it's too cold to start it before starting the session, is to get a smart fan that you can turn on and adjust the speed from your phone. I got one and it was quite cheap. Less than half the price of the Wahoo fan they showed here. Interestingly, the Wahoo fan was one of the few accessories that my bike store recommended not getting, because it tries to smartly simulate your actual headwind speed. Which, if the ride you're simulating is a steep climb, will mean you don't get much air. Better to get either a completely dumb fan, or a smart fan where you manually control the speed.
I only do intervals indoors now. It's not possible to find a flat road with a good surface and no intersections in my area. But I wish I knew about the fan from the beginning 😀 They should put a disclaimer in every indoor trainer instruction!
