I broke my hip March 27th. I am healed for the most part but I need to get flexibility back. Do you know some good stretching exorcizes that would help?
I simply don’t do obliques bc I don’t want to be wider near the waistline. Most people’s goal is to be lean at the waist and wide at the top so I let my lats create width for me, not my obliques.

See now you'll find that YouTube is filled with people trying to teach similar things but nobody comes close to this guy and that's purely because he has the actual knowledge that works behind bodybuilding I mean have you seen those degrees he has that pop up at the starting of every video. Big applause and immense respect for this guy.
would this also apply to just strength training the abdominal? I don't care about showing a 6 pack. I want to strengthen the area. Are there better exercises for strength?

I have been using the ab wheel and can roll out upwards of 100 at a time. Any insight in its use to improve the workout.
Six pack abs are genetically pre-determined. The fullness of a particular muscle belly can only be changed so much. Ronnie Coleman had weak abs and he was an 8 time Mr. Olympia on steroids. People should be training for health and longevity, not 6 pack abs. People never cease to amaze me with their desire to impress others. It's pathetic…

Here’s one exercise that works…twisting crunches on the floor with hands across the chest. Right elbow to the left hip. Left elbow to the right hip. Use the abs to drive the lower back into the floor and raise the hips and shoulder blades off the floor. Exhale on the exertion and pause for a moment to work on getting a cramp in the abs.
I’ll try at 60 pretty tuff
My favorite ab exercise is the dragon flag. I have been training them over the last couple of months, and it has done wonders for my abbs.
I m 54 Jeff. And I must say 1 or 2 of these excercizes along with paying close attention to your movement patterns/ proper form.
